Fast-rising Urban / Afrobeats singer and songwriter Yasmin Kadi is not a newcomer by any stretch of the word. Her 2014 debut EP ‘Earthquake’ charted at No. 1 on iTunes Ireland, with the likes of BBC London and RTE Ireland having championed the exceptional Sierra Leone born artist of African and Lebanese descent.
Yasmin is currently starring alongside Usain Bolt in the new Virgin Media Campaign “This is Virgin Fiber” and is one of the lead performers in the latest installment of the critically acclaimed video game “Guitar Hero”.
In 2016, she wrote for and sung in an episode of the American TV series “Tyrant” staring Chris Noth (aka Mr. Big) and most recently landed a role in the new Gorillaz App for the collaboration between Jaguar and Gorillaz (the band).
With many live performances on various BBC Radio shows under her belt as well as headlining multiple festivals including the “WOW Festival” at the Southbank London, Yasmin describes her music as 'A Perfect Imperfection'.
Yasmin is proud to debut her 2nd UK single “No Drama” Produced by SOS, who have previously worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Emeli Sande, Stormzy, Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah and many more.
Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, Yasmin was forced to flee to the UK with her family at a very young age, after her family home was attacked during the Sierra Leone blood diamond conflict.
Essentially, her story, through her music, is one of hope, which according to Yasmin “no matter how bad things are, there is always hope. You can fight the odds and still achieve things in life without selling yourself for a price or compromising who you are and what you stand for”.
